THE GOLDEN AGE OF FORMULA 1

This package of files for Grand Prix-cision Racing is intended to enable you to simulate, in a loose sort of way, several seasons from the Golden Age of Formula 1 racing - the 1960s.

INSTRUCTIONS:

Unzip the 1960s Tracks files into your GPR sub-folder called \Tracks.

Unzip the 1960s Cars files into your GPR sub-folder called \Cars.

Unzip the car setup (*.crs) and team (*.tms) files into your GPR sub-folder called \Car Setup Files.

Unzip the Season (*.sea) files into your GPR sub-folder called \Season.

In the car setup files and the season files, the paths to the car images may be broken, in which case you will need to use a text editor such as NotePad to rebuild these a bit. It helps if you name your folder "GPR 2007" (note the space between GPR & 2007) and keep the subfolder names as they are.

THE DRIVERS

The 20 drivers in each year's car setup file are listed in the order of finish during that season. Where a driver raced for more than 1 team during the year, the listed team is the one he raced for most often. (Actually, the indicated "team" is a reference to the type of car rather than the formal team name.)

PLAYING A SEASON

The Car Setup and Season files are plain text files which can be edited in NotePad. As provided, all 20 cars in each Season are set to be under AI control. It is easy to switch some or all of the cars to human control. Just load the Car Setup and/or Season file into NotePad; you will see that each car is represented by a line of text. The 6th item in each line is a variable which reads #TRUE#; change this to #FALSE# to switch that car to human control. To race a whole Season, you need to make this change in both files.
